MYANMAR – The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management (MOHADM), National Unity Government (NUG) announced that 486.7 million MMK were provided as humanitarian aid to the people truly requiring assistance during May.
The Ministry reported to the public that this support was enabled by the funds raised from the “for the people, from the people” program of the revolutionary people to strengthen the relationship between the government and the population.
Out of the 486.7 million MMK, 345.2 million MMK was used to provide food to 171,302 displaced people, while 43.9 million MMK was given as humanitarian aid to 238 civilian heroes who fell in battle and 335 who were injured.
Moreover, 7.4 million MMK was given as humanitarian aid to CDM employees, 0.4 million MMK to political prisoners and their families, and 3.2 million MMK to civilians affected by natural disasters.
86.8 million MMK was used for general humanitarian aid and 132 houses were built at safe places for those whose houses were torched by junta terrorists, while 419 pieces of tarpaulin were provided to the displaced people needing shelter during the rainy season.
MOHADM thanked and praised the actions of each and every member of the public who continue to stay strong and contribute to the success of the revolution despite numerous hardships and stated that it will continue to work together with unwavering tenacity.
