MYANMAR – Local youths directed and performed a stage performance based on the battle that took place at Satpyarkyin Village in Tabayin Township, Sagaing Division on July 2, 2021.
Tabayin People’s Defence Force – Kaungkin Team described it as a “performance based on the true story of the Tumi (muskets) battle of the Generation Z at Satpyarkyin (Village), Tabayin.”
On July 2, 2021, local revolutionary forces who only had Tumi guns (muskets) and handmade weapons bravely defended against the terrorist junta council troops raiding and torching the villages in Tabayin Township near Satpyarkyin Village.
In the battle, 32 people including eight revolutionary soldiers, local people and social volunteers who tried to rescue the injured people were killed, stated Tabayin PDF.
Members of Tabayin PDF: Mr. Than Toe Aung (23), Mr. Maung Maung (27), Mr. Nay Myo Kyaw (23), Mr. Nay Thu Aung (19), Mr. Hein Zaw Phyo (19), Mr. Myo Min Htwe (22), Mr. Ya Wai Aung (21) and Mr. Thant Zin Win (19) lost their lives in that battle.
The junta council overpowered the defence forces with heavy artillery during the battle and indiscriminately murdered the revolutionary comrades, local civilians and social volunteers. Locals said that they had to pick up the scattered dead bodies and cremate them after the junta terrorists left the area.
Tabayin Township has suffered terribly at the hands of the terrorist junta council following the military coup, being one of the townships subjected to the highest numbers of junta raids and arsons. The terrorist junta forces had burned down over 6,000 houses in the township.
