SOUTHERN SHAN STATE – It is reported that a resident of Ywama Ward of Ywangan City was arrested on April 24th by Ywangan PDF (JPRF) while he was returning from gambling by car near Kyauk Pon Village.
He said that JPRF checked him and found some cash and gambling accessories, such as seven gins.
“If we go to the gambling ring, the game will be canceled. The players in the gambling ring are also provided with security, so we wait for the return and get caught on the way,” said JPRF official KP.
According to the JPRF group, after the arrest and investigation, he signed and confessed not to make any more bets and was released.
People’s defense groups have banned gambling within the township, but gambling is still being held during traditional events such as the “Tatet” festival and the Pagoda festival.
According to the JPRF group, people play too much in these gambling circles and the junta council has to provide security for them because they get a lot of money every month.
According to the JPRF, the military council received a fee of 200,000 for 1 night and 1 day for one Angalon (aka Moegyogone King) and 500,000 for 1 night and 1 day for Jin (a dice-throwing) circle.
According to the JPRF group, in areas such as Ywangan and Pindaya townships, army officers and Pyu Saw Hti have allowed gambling clubs all over the place, and drugs are also being traded by Pyu Saw Htee under the Junta Council.
