KARENNI STATE – The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) battalion 2 informed that the Loikaw- Mobye and Loikaw- Hsi Hseng Roads were reopened starting July 28. However, the public is advised to travel with caution.
Due to military tensions and junta council military exercising in Karenni State, and the situation of military tension, KNDF announced on July 18 that large vehicles (such as ten-wheeled trucks, cargo trucks, trailers, (six wheeler) dumper trucks, and trucks covered in taverns) are banned from travelling on those roads connecting Shan and Karenni States.
Since July 21, there have been clashes between the junta forces and joint defence forces along the Loikaw-Mobye Road.
Because of the fire-fights, many locals from Kone Tha, Nwar La Wo and Padar Nyay Villages had to flee and a civilian was reportedly killed by the military council’s heavy weapons.
Residents of the war-torn villages have not yet returned home. The current battle situation has not been announced officially by any defence force yet.
