KAREN STATE – The spokesperson of the Karen National Union (KNU) Central Executive Committee, Padoh Saw Taw Nee, said that only the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) has control of light infantry battalion (LIB) 355, 356, 357, and strategic bases in Thingangnyinaung, Myawaddy Township.
He explained that the KNLA-led joint forces only retreated from infantry battalion (IB) 275 in Myawaddy but still had control of Thingangnyinaung.
“To be clear, our forces control Thingangnyinaung (LIB) 355, 356, 357 and strategic bases. Only our forces are present there. (Infantry) 275 in that town (Myawaddy) is the only place where our forces are not present. Just to let everyone know,” said Padoh Saw Taw Nee.
However, the terrorist junta council is claiming through its lobby Telegram channels that they are conducting area clearance in Thingangnyinaung.
A military source from Myawaddy shared that he “didn’t reach Thingannyinaung but did not see any junta forces. I only saw BGF (Border Guard Force) mainly at IB 275, unless the junta dogs (junta forces) were wearing BGF uniforms. But I didn’t see any junta military uniforms,” regarding the situation in Myawaddy on April 24.
