BAGO DIVISION – In junta’s Thayet prison, prison staff are forcing female political prisoners to sell betel nuts for their own benefits and even asked to cook rice and curry.
As political prisoners, if they do not comply with such forced actions, they will be denied access to prison visits. It is said that there are threats to block the delivery of parcels, and the prison staff is also cutting the parcels of political prisoners.
In addition, there is a lack of health care in Thayet prison, and political prisoners are forced to bathe at set times even during hot weather, so political prisoners get sick and they faced skin disease problems.
The female political prisoners association announced that they will work together with the political prisoners until justice is prevailed for the human rights violations in prison.
