BAGO DIVISION – In Mone Town, Kyaukgyi Township, stalls (shops) in the market were burnt down and destroyed by the terrorist military council troops that are also driving away the residents, Karen National Union (KNU) central stated on Thursday (December 21).
It is also stated that about five days before the military troops set fire to the shops on December 20, they broke into them and sold the commodities at a cheap price.
Quoting a local report who went to the market, the stolen things were sold as low as an egg for 100 Kyats, and a pair of pants for 10,000 Kyats.
In addition, refrigerators and other items were destroyed on the bridge and were thrown into the Mone River, and the residents (nearby) were forcibly driven away, as mentioned in the statement released by KNU (central).
