MANDALAY DIVISION – After the terrorist junta chief Min Aung Hlaing visited Bagan, local authorities sneakily removed the bronze statue of General Aung San located near the city centre pagoda, according to military sources and residents of the city.
Terrorist war criminal Min Aung Hlaing and his wife visited Bagan and Nyaung U on May 26 and carried out astrological rituals at the Htilo Minlo Pagoda including the donation of 50 tical of gold. They then went around the city of Bagan. Following their visit, the statue of General Aung San was removed around 11 p.m. on May 31.
“Electricity was cut off and the statue of the general was removed last night (May 31) around 11. They cleaned the area and put some decorative flower pots there. A large number of junta staff inspected that area earlier that evening, then carried away the statue at night after cutting off the electricity. The whereabouts of the statue of the general is currently unknown,” said a local resident.
The statue was erected in 2015, and arranged by NLD.
In addition, terrorist Min Aung Hlaing was reported to have ordered the restoration of all drying lakes in Bagan and Nyaung U as part of an astrological ritual.
“He (Min Aung Hlaing) donated gold and carried out astrological rituals at Htilo Minlo Pagoda and ordered to restore all the lakes in Bagan and Nyaung U, even those that are the size of a puddle. Restoring lakes must be an astrological ritual to repair bad luck,” said a local news source.
