SAGAING DIVISION – Junta council soldiers raided a house in Indaw Township on Thursday night, October 5, and illegally abducted three family members.
A large number of junta soldiers entered a house in Nyaung Pin Su Residential Ward searching for a youth. When they couldn’t find him, they abducted three other family members.
One resident reported, “A large group of junta soldiers arrived by car and fired four or five shots before raiding the house. They abducted the youth’s two sisters and brother because they couldn’t find him. We don’t know why they were looking for him.”
The youth had been on a trip for an extended period, and the junta soldiers abducted his family members and took them to the Indaw Police Station.
On August 12, junta soldiers and police conducted inspections of civilians’ mobile phones both inside and outside of Indaw. They subsequently detained two men and one woman on charges of having connections with PDF comrades.
Indaw Township is adjacent to Kachin State and Sagaing Division, and clashes between local PDF-ABSDF forces and junta forces have frequently occurred there. The junta council has also declared “Martial Law” in Indaw Township.
