MYANMAR – CDM Captain Zin Yaw reported based on internal military sources that the terrorist junta council leader Min Aung Hlaing has detained Central Division Command Commander Major General Kyi Khaing along with several current and former junta officers for attempting mutiny.
The detained officers reportedly also include the division commander colonel, the PSO of Major General Kyi Khaing and several retired major generals.
“Rather than getting removed from their positions, they are currently being investigated. It is almost certain that they will be removed from their positions. It was not just him (Major General Kyi Khaing) alone. The division commander, colonel, his PSO and several officers were reportedly detained. The deputy division commander was not part of them. Several retired generals that met him were also detained. We don’t know the identities yet,” said CDM Captain Zin Yaw.
He said that Major General Kyi Khaing held meetings in the palace with some retired generals and his trusted aides to plan a rebellion against Min Aung Hlaing and that there were also secret meetings to stage a coup in Nay Pyi Taw, in addition to the attack on the Winnammaitaryon Monastery Head Monk in the territory of Central Division Command and revolutionary forces seizing the air defense base in Madaya that is at a close distance from the Mandalay Palace.
The junta chief is said to be distrusting of the officers in his ranks and appointed his followers to keep a watch on the division commanders which is how his personal squad from Nay Pyi Taw arrested Major General Kyi Khaing after the meeting.
