KARENNI STATE – After the coup, over 500 civilians have been killed by junta forces, said PKPF on Monday, June 3.
The casualties include:
180 from Loikaw
113 from Pekhon
123 from Demoso
45 from Hpruso
20 from Bawlakhe
11 from Hpa Saung
Seven from Shar Taw
Three from Mae Sae
Currently, the junta forces are launching an offensive in Loikaw and firing heavy artillery shells nearby. Recently, three civilians from Pekhon were wounded by junta artillery shells. Additionally, the junta council is abducting some civilians in Loi Lin Lay.
The deaths of five civilians are still under investigation, and another seven were killed during detention, interrogation, and imprisonment by the junta council.
Twelve civilians died from heart attacks caused by junta shelling, and 16 were killed by landmines planted by the junta. The junta soldiers murdered 267 civilians without apparent reason, and their small and heavy weapons killed 146 civilians. Forty-five innocent civilians were killed in junta airstrikes, according to the statement.
