MYANMAR – Eain Lwan Thu Myanmar film festival for the people of Myanmar who had to leave their homes for various reasons after the military coup is planned to be held in Thailand, France and Indonesia.
The festival by Spirit in Education Movement (SEM) and Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) is planned to be held in Chiang Mai, Mae Sot, Mae Hong Song, Chiang Rai, Bangkok and Ranaung of Thailand as well as France and Indonesia.
The aim of the festival is to empathize with the people of Myanmar who are away from the country for various reasons including those who had to flee from airstrikes, armed conflicts and the conscription law, CDM employees, migrant workers and displaced people.
The film festival will also include a dialogue session, music and performance arts and intends to serve as a dialogue space for the Thai-Myanmar activists and to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by the Myanmar people to the Thai government and politicians.
