MANDALAY DIVISION – In Chan Mya Thar Si Township, Aung Pinlal, the military junta inspected overnight guest list in the daytime and abducted at least ten people, residents said.
On February 25, starting at about 9:00 a.m., the military junta council with a large force inspected the houses around the main road in the center of the village in Aung Pinlal Ward.
Residents said that at least ten young people were abducted after the inspection.
“They checked the guest list. I don’t know what to do if there are visitors during the day. People from other areas are mainly checked. No one dares to go out,” said a resident of Aung Pinlal Ward.
Some local residents said that they heard that they had to pay money to the junta to release the abducted youths.
According to local residents, at least 30 people, including the junta soldiers, junta police, junta general administration officer and ward and village administrator, participated in the guest list check.
The military junta troops also frequently raid some villages in Patheingyi Township outside Mandalay to conduct searches.
