Myanmar – It was reported that four people related to the Myanmar junta army, including Dr. Muthang, chairman of the junta council’s political front USDP (Union Solidarity and Development Party) (Chin State) were included among the sanction lists by the European Union countries.
The individuals and organisations sanctioned are General Min Aung Hlaing’s advisor, Minister Lt. Gen. Nyi Saw, junta council member Dr. Muthang, Former Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin and General Hla Moe, Commander of the Eastern Military Command, and the Star Sapphire Company Group and Royal Shune Lei Company Limited, which supply the military with weapons.
Dr. Muthang was appointed as a member of the junta regime’s state administration council on February 17, 2023, replacing the ZCD Party General Secretary Pukin Kan Hlyan.
The assets of the individuals on the sanctions list will be controlled, economic resources that directly or indirectly benefit them will be blocked, and their right to visit the European region will also be banned.
It is reported that the EU has sanctioned more than 100 individuals and a total of more than 20 companies from Myanmar.
