YANGON DIVISION – Two farm guards were arrested with over 4 billion kyats worth of stimulant tablets in Hmawbi Township, the junta’s Central Committee for Drug Association Control (CCDAC) said on Tuesday (June 21).
The junta’s joint team launched a search operation at Mr. Aung Min’s house in Myaung Taka Village, Hmawbi Township, on June 1, at about 10:30 pm, according to the information.
The junta arrested Mr. Khin Maung Htun and Mr. Ko Ko Naing who were guarding the farm, and 42.1 lakhs stimulant tablets hidden in apricots and dried coconuts.
The current value of these tablets is 4.21 billion kyats, and the owner of the stimulant tablets is Mr. Aung Min, according to the investigation.
He was a fugitive from the seizure of 147,750 stimulant tablets in Myoma Kanyintan Village, Maungdaw Township in August 2018, and was arrested on May 16, 2022, at Maungdaw Police Station.
