SAGAING DIVISION – According to the local defence forces, there was a battle between the military junta forces and the local defence forces near Tegyi Village on September 18, where two PDF comrades fell and some weapons were lost.
On September 18, at around 8:00 a.m., the junta troops launched offensives towards Tegyi Village and one local defence force comrade from Tegyi Village and another local defence force comrade from Mau West Village were killed in battle.
In addition, the improvised explosive devices and homemade guns of the local defence forces in Tegyi Village were also reported to have been lost.
“The battle was only for a short time. This area is not in a situation where we can defend and fight back. It is also close to the town. It is not an area where we can hold our defences,” said one comrade of the local defence forces.
On September 13, after the deputy police chief from Tada U Airport Air Force Police and his wife were killed near Thalon Phyu Village, the military junta troops launched offensives and abducted and killed the locals.
It is reported that they raided villages such as Nyaungone, Chan Gyi, Thaphyu and Taegyi Villages near Thalon Phyu Village, and had killed 11 local people and abducted more than 40 people since September 15.
The villages that were invaded by junta forces are the villages west of Ngahtatgyi Pagoda in Sagaing, and after the fighting, there were still rumors spreading in Sagaing that people are not allowed to go out after 1:00 p.m., according to the local defence forces.
In Sagaing Township, since September 14, the junta troops have been on an offensive, and a total of 16 local people have been killed.
