MYANMAR – The Urban Special Force (U.S.F) demanded three items including the release of all unjustly detained people within ten days from the junta council and warned that junta associates will face serious consequences if the demands are not met.
“The main thing is for them to understand their current standing. They should quickly release the people unjustly detained and we also want to warn the departments taking bribes. They can wait and see if they think we won’t do anything,” said an official from U.S.F.
U.S.F and Shadow (SAF) released a statement on April 10, asking the junta regional commanders and subordinates in Yangon and Mandalay to quickly join the side of the people, the Insein CID and similar departments, that are forcibly abducting and extorting people and committing crimes such as bribery and the sale of drugs, to immediately halt their actions and the junta council to free the unjustly detained people within ten days.
It was also mentioned that if the three demands are not met, they will take serious action on those related to the junta council based on informers within the junta council.
“We also want to caution the people, to not visit festivals and crowded events. Anything could happen at anytime. Those who won’t listen will have to bear the consequences themselves. We won’t be responsible, this is a strict warning,” said the above mentioned official.
U.S.F has carried out ten operations alongside allied forces as Urban Special Operations (U.S.O) before changing its name to U.S.F and has carried out 12 missions so far.
It has attacked the Air Force staff housing in March and the office of the Military Investigation Bureau in April after changing its name.
