SAGAING DIVISION – It has been reported that 13 more youths who were detained in a basic education high school for military conscription, have escaped in Ye-U town, Sagaing division.
The commanding officer of the Shwe Bo district battalion 14, Mr. Thit Pin, mentioned that at around 2:30 a.m. on May 29, the comrades from the battalion 14 went and pick up 13 civilians who were detained to conscribe in the Ye-U town high school. Those detainees ran away and escaped while the junta council troops and Pyu Saw Htee militias were unaware.
Mr. Thit Pin mentioned that “we questioned them after they arrived. Following that we sent them to their relatives in the liberated zone.”
It was known that there are more eight civilians were left behind in the school.
This is the third time that the civilians who were detained in Ye-U town high school escaped.
On May 14, eight civilians escaped after Shwe Bo district battalion 14 – Ye-U PDF (People Defense Force) conducted drone attack over that school. There were eleven more men escaped on May 9 and 10 as well.
The spokesperson of Ye-U township PDF, Mr. Raung Ni, mentioned that at least 50 civilians were forcibly conscripted after the junta council declared the conscription law in Ye-U township.
The fascist junta council chose the civilians and provided military training as the first batch. And now, the junta council is delivering the notifications to conscript all around the country for second batch.
