RAKHINE STATE – Locals stated that four civilians were killed and over 30 civilians had been abducted when the junta council raided into Byaing Hpyu Village, Sittwe Township, Rakhine State on Wednesday (May 29).
“The junta thugs dragged villagers including all women and children to outside for interrogate. Some men were treated brutal interrogation. We don’t even know exactly why they have done like that, but villages have been facing so many troubles,” a Sittwe local elaborated how the junta troop ransacked and searched one by one houses and forcibly dragged suspect families in Byaing Hpyu Village, Sittwe Township, Rakhine State on May 29.
Currently, the junta council is said to kill four men and they have detained some locals with the accusation of connection with Arakan Army (AA) after brutally interrogated and completely blockaded entrance and exist of the village.
“We witnessed some people had been forcibly detained with the junta’s military vehicle. We heard gunshots from that side this (May 29) morning. We cannot contact the village currently. The junta council has blockaded the entrance and exit of the village,” one of the local said.
In addition, around 30 Byaing Hpyu villagers had been abducted by the junta forces and exact quantities of being abducted and names are still under investigation.
Furthermore, the junta forces had used to raid and interrogate Byaing Hpyu Village in previous year (2023) and abducted dozens of villagers whenever after they marched into the village.
