MYANMAR – Junta council’s Central Bank (CB) announced on Thursday (May 30) afternoon that 12 persons working Hundi activities and Illegal digital money changers including United State Dollar Tether (USDT) have been abducted and their total of 74 accounts: 36 Bank accounts and 38 Pay accounts have been taken controlled while American Rate has risen dramatically in domestic economic market. Junta’s CB also claimed to charge detainees with Anti Money Laundering and Financial laws.
Currently, Myanmar Kyats (MMK) Rate has been slightly risen in USD and MMK exchange after the arrestment news have been spreading. However, only few trades have been processing and most of the money changers are said to have discontinued and evaded.
“The exchange rate rose to highest price today (May 30) noon. The price reached over 4,910 MMK for 1 USD. Someone who needs dollars urgently pays more price until 5,000 MMK. But now, the MMK rate has increased again. There are many arrests news occurring,” one of the foreign currency exchange large scale centers said.
