MAGWAY DIVISION – In an area of resistance in Magway Division, to mark the 2nd anniversary of the establishment of Magway District Battalion 2, the 1st commando training graduation and oath ceremony was held, according to the battalion commander, Bo. Sanshar.
The ceremony was held at 6 a.m. on May 5. Even though the commando training had been completed since April 3, because of the instability in the area, it had to be held jointly only now. “We did it amid the hovering junta planes because it was our memorial day. The first batch of female soldiers participated in the graduation ceremony,” said Bo. Sanshar.
The ceremony was held for two hours. In addition to the graduation ceremony, the revolutionary oath ceremony was also held, and the comrades were treated to Myanmar traditional food Mohingar.
In addition, he added that there were no female soldiers in the battalion before, but as the women contacted the team enthusiastically, saying that they wanted to join the battle, four women were included in the commando training for the first time.
So far, the battalion has conducted six basic military training courses, and it is also reported that the commando course is being conducted for the first time. When the force was first formed, it operated as a local PDF, but at the end of 2022, it was changed to Battalion 2 of Magway District and continues to revolt against the military dictatorship.
