RAKHINE STATE- According to people close to the family, Mr. Tun Lwin, the former member of the Arakan League for Democratic ALD, was unjustly arrested by the military council troops.
Political activist Mr. Tun Lwin was arrested at around 9:00 a.m. on April 14 at his home in Kyauk Phyu Township.
Mr. Tun Lwin, a 60-year-old man, is a former member of the ALD party and a civilian working in the salt industry in the Kyauk Phyu region.
A person related to Mr. Tun Lwin said, “We don’t know exactly why he was arrested by the military council. He was a political activist before, but now he is just a civilian working in the salt industry. The military council did not say anything about why he was arrested. He was arrested unjustly.”
It is reported that the military council forces took Mr. Tun Lwin to the Kyaukphyu 34th Infantry Battalion and cut off contact with his family members.
Military council troops arrested the former ALD member, ransacked his home, and confiscated a computer and two mobile phones.
During the resurgent battle in Rakhine State, the military council has been unjustly arresting civilians claiming to be in contact with the Arakan Army (AA), and killing and shooting civilians with heavy weapons and air strikes continuously.
The Arakan Army (AA) has warned that if the military council commits atrocities against the people of Arakan, they will fight to the end of the world.
