The KA and KNDF joint forces attacked a Junta base near Pun Chaung on 27th March (Armed Forces Day) at 5:30 in the morning.
The Junta forces struck back with heavy weapons and fighter jets.
“Clashes occurred in Kone Thar, west of Demoso, Hpruso, and at the 6th mile. All of them were guerrilla attacks. What happened in Pun Chaung was a big one and the Kone Thar battle followed. The others were conducted by a group of 3-4 men.” Karenni’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Khoo Daniel said.
On the 27th, a half-hour-long battle broke out in Kone Thar, Demoso. Houses were also set on fire at the Dawngankhar crossroad.
On the same day, clashes broke out between the advancing Junta troops and the KNDF / B-09 near the 6th mile.
The KNDF / B-09 announced today (March 28) that more than 40 military vehicles were deployed along the Loikaw-Dimawso highway on 27th and 28th March.
“Demoso is the main. As the clashes also broke out in Hpruso, I guess they are going to move down to Hpruso,” commented an official of KNDF/ B-09.
The KNDF also attacked Hpruso based KhaMaYa 428 battalion, leaving casualties on the Junta forces.
