MANDALAY DIVISION- The weapon storage hut of the Mandalay-based “Bagan Ogre Force” was raided at around 4 a.m. last Thursday (July 13). Seven men, including a PDF member, were killed and weapons were reportedly seized by junta troops.
The storage place is near Thanetpin Village, Nyaung-U Township and about a hundred strong junta forces reportedly raided the place.
“We have two PDF members guarding the hut. One of them was killed during the raid and the other escaped. Six other men in the nearby huts were also shot by Junta troops,” stated Mr. Zeekwet, the spokesperson of Bagan Ogre Force.
“More junta troops arrived at the Thanetpin Village on July 14 in six vehicles, interrogating and arresting the locals thus guerrilla force members could not stay in the village,” stated Mr. Zeekwet, the spokesperson.
“The locals stayed in huts in nearby are mostly farmers. Junta troops reportedly torched those huts and nothing would be left by now. There might be more civilian causalities (other than the six men who were shot on the day of raid),” he continued.
The raid on their weapon storage place was due to a junta informant, whose identity has been found out, as stated by Mr. Zeekwet.
The weapons lost were reported as seven (produced by KIA) Paris rifles, 24 magazines, around 2000 bullets, a 380 pistol, and its artilleries, more than seventy rounds of 9mm bullet, ten hand grenades, and some explosives.
