A hand grenade was hurled at the Ministry of Transport and Communications office (Swel Taw), Amarapura Township, Mandalay, around 2pm on the 28th of December, injuring one police officer and a nearby civilian, according to locals.
“The police were in the bunker, and he had a minor injury from the attack with the bomb. We heard that the attack was carried out from a motorcycle. Also, one person nearby got injured,” said the Amarapura locals.
In addition, two unidentified men attacked the Immigration Office at Mhan Tan Ward, Amarapura Township, around noon on December 28th, with handmade grenades. The blast led to a small amount of damage to the office building but no one was injured, according to some of the residents.
In another attack on December 27th, two bombs exploded on the second floor of the Mandalay District Court, damaging the building but leaving no one injured.
No one was injured in another blast on November 11th, when a handmade grenade exploded at the Ministry of Transport and Communications office (Swel Taw).
Urban guerrilla groups are attempting to stop the junta’s revenue streams and have warned the public not to pay taxes to the junta.
Also on October 27th, two bombs exploded in front of the Ministry of Transport and Communications office on Thate Pan Road, injuring at least ten people and destroying more than a dozen motorcycles.
