MYANMAR – The president of Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association Mr. San Lin and the dealers who have the permit to import palm oil were said to have been abducted by the junta council on the evening of August 30.
The president of Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association Mr. San Lin and the import permit holders for palm oil: Mr. Aye Sein, Mr. Myint Kyu, Mr. Wang Htike and Mr. Tun Tun Win, were said to have been abducted, as said by the junta lobby channels.
The president of MEODA and four other dealers were reportedly abducted, as reported to the media by the dealers but where they have been taken is still unknown.
The Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Commerce under the junta administration have announced that those who sell palm oil at high prices will be arrested on August 29.
The junta council has formed the Union Steering Committee to stabilize commodity prices on August 1 to control the surging prices of basic commodities.
