NATIONAL UNITY GOVERNMENT – The “Dancing with ladies” campaign to arm weapons to the People Defence Forces in Karenni State successfully raised more than 580 million.
It has been more than 16 months since the coup and due to the suppression by the junta troops, many places were burnt down, and many lost their properties, homes, lives, and beloved ones.
The armed revolution against the junta troops is happening all over the country since the people can no longer stand the Junta’s crimes against humanity.
The junta troops are using excessive forces and heavy artilleries to suppress the revolution/resistance forces, especially in Karenni State where clashes are frequent; many people are displaced and places are destroyed each day.
The revolutionary forces have limitations on arms supplies and thus “Dancing with the ladies” (where dance means similar to the dance battles against the coup) campaign started on May 26. The campaigners planned to raise 0.5 billion kyats within 3 weeks.
Many fundraisers from Asia and Australia, Europe, and America have raised the funds to support the guys from Karenni (PDFs) via the National Unity Government (NUG).
The campaign has raised more than the target and the top donations are from Singapore and Myanmar followed by America, South Korea, and Thailand.
Since the coup, there have been clashes between the junta troops and the armed organizations amidst the political instability.
