YANGON- Union Ministers and Deputy ministers of National Unity Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the U.S. Department of State joined and discussed in the panel discussion of ”Myanmar policy Conference” organized by Global Fund for Burma in Washington, DC, the United States of America on 20th June 2023.
According to a news report by the Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology of NUG, U Htin Lin Aung and Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, the Union Ministers, U Moe Zaw Oo, the Deputy Foreign Minister and Sean Turnell, the Special Advisor to the interim Central Bank of NUG, attended the conference.
It is reported that U Htin Lin Aung, the Minister of Communications, Information and Technology, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the U.S. Department of State delivered opening remarks and the representatives from ethnic organizations of Kachin, Karen, Karenni and Chin, some of Burma’s biggest ethnic groups, representatives from the United States National Security Council, US congressmen and the experts from Myanmar Study Group discussed the need to implement Burma Act effectively.
The attendees were said to have discussed the situation on the ground in Myanmar, the challenges Myanmar people are facing, the need to access international assistances including US Aid, federal democracy implementation issues and international and UN actions.
