Shwe Bo residents said that 17 year old Tun Lwin Oo was shot and killed in Shwe Bo, Sagaing Division, by junta forces for riding motorcycle with another man.
“Tun Lwin Oo was from Kawlin. He was working as a courier to support his parents. He drove the motorcycle and he was shot and killed on sight. The passenger, Ko Pyae Sone Oo, was arrested,” said a local. The incident occurred near Shwe Pyae Aein restaurant in Shwe Bo.
“They were not driving away from any checkpoint. Junta soldiers were patrolling in plain clothes and they shot and killed him without questioning. They didn’t even interrogate him on suspicion of being a PDF, they shot and killed him on his way home from work. This is unacceptable,” said a resident of Shwe Bo.
Locals said that this is the fifth time an innocent civilian was killed for riding motorcycle with another man.
The whereabouts of Ko Pyae Sone Oo, who was arrested, has not been yet been disclosed and his family haven not been able to reach him.
