On December 12th, junta forces set fire to houses, shops, and motorbikes alongside the Monywa-Yargyi-Kalaywa highway near La Poh Village in Kani Township, Sagaing Region, locals said.
“On December 12th, they (the junta forces) deployed in La Poh Village and set fire to civilians’ properties,” a member of the USDP party said. He added, “They are no longer human. Their inhumane acts, like burning down innocent people’s houses, motorbikes, paddy fields, rice bulks, cows and horses, are not protecting people. There were some people who supported Junta before. After all these things, they now support the NUG government”.
Junta forces destroyed and burnt down 10 houses and shops, 7 huts, 5 motorbikes, 1 paddy field, many rice bulks, and a cow and a horse were also killed, locals said.
On December 14th, in Taungdwin Region, Minkin Township, junta forces also set fire to houses. A couple in their 40s or 50s, and their pets, were also killed. The man was an employee of Shine Hope Company, which is repairing the India-Myanmar Friendship Highway.
