The “counter offensive forces”, supported by the junta military, set fire to and destroyed the house of a hard-line NLD supporter and are threatening members and supporters of NLD, reported citizens of Kyin Village, Wundwin Township, Mandalay Division.
Around 7pm on December 24th, counter offensive forces allegedly set fire to the house of U Nan Khine of Kyin Village, for the second time. He is a strong supporter of the NLD.
“They are targeting the houses of hard-line supporters of the NLD. This group has been formed by the military junta and the people who started the fire were dropped off in military trucks. It was also U Nan Khine‘s house, the previous time, this is the second time. This group was also involved when the military junta cleared the villages,” reported one resident to Tachileik News Agency on December 26th.
The counter offensive forces also published on social media on December 25th, at about 11am, that they were responsible for the arson on U Nan Khine‘s house. They also stated that they destroyed a vehicle, belonging to U Hla Myint of Wundwin, and had carried out two arson attacks on U Nan Khine’s house.
The counter offensive forces, supported and formed by the military junta, has been using the term “terrorists” in reference to NLD members, supporters, and anti coup protesters, and were also threatening them.
