
While Min Aung Hlaing, the coup leader, Commander General Saw Steel from Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) and other members met, the Junta Leader asked DKBA General how to proceed the current situation in the future, according to the information from the spokesperson Saw Sein Win included in the meeting.
“General asked our opinion on the current situation and then he described the procedure which he wishes,” spokesperson Saw Sein Win said.
After the meeting personally of forty minutes long, Junta Council held Peace talks for two days. In the tracks of the meeting, the junta’s lobbyist released the announcement that Junta received the agreements for Peace and Development.
“There is no special agreement. They (Junta) would like to mainly collect the opinions on the current political situation from all the organizations that attended the meeting including DKBA. There is no final decision,” DKBA spokesperson released upon agreements.
Junta Council had started holding the Peace Talks in the third week of May and already finished meeting with the New Mon State Party (NMSP), Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA), Karen National Liberation Army’s Peace Council (KNU/KNLA PC), Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), United Wa State Party (UWSP), Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS/SSA), Nationalities Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA) (Mongla) and Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO).
Junta’s lobbyist media announced that Junta Council discussed related federal matters and signed the agreement when meeting with each Ethnic Group.
Junta Council, while holding Peace Talks in Nay Pyi Taw, announced on June 14 that the organizations who are still not yet attend the meeting were to contact at latest on June 30.
