At Koe Zu security gate, Pathein, Ayeyarwady Division, junta soldiers stopped cars coming from Yangon and searched for a women desperately.
“Since the morning of December 6th, there have been many junta soldiers searching through vehicles at the Yangon-Pathein highway security gates.” said the witness. “The soldiers got on our express-bus and checked the faces of the passengers with a woman’s photo on their smart phone”, the witness added.
Locals also confirmed that junta soldiers were searching for the women in the photo in cars travelling from Yangon to Pathein.
Since the shoot out at the Pathein Traffic Police booth, security had been tightened and more than 30 people had been detained by the junta with the accusation of being PDF associates.
