KAREN STATE- A local farmer from Min Latt Pan was seriously injured on Saturday (6 August) due to shelling of heavy weapons from junta troops stationed in Flue village at south of Myawady city.
“Military junta has been firing heavy weapons all day long. They were firing anywhere aimlessly. The victim was clearing un-relished weed grasses in the farm when heavy weapon fell. It hit the leg and the knee was amputated,” a local from Min Latt Pan who witnessed the scene said.
The person hit by the weapon was a 52-year-old corn farmer. Family members said that he was taken to Mae Sot Hospital for treatment this evening due to severe injuries from the heavy weapon.
A member of Karen National Liberation Army said that junta troops have been trying to launch an attack since 6 August at Flue-Wallae road, southern area of Myawady city.
At the same time, four soldiers from junta’s reinforcement column joined CDM and took refuge with KNU.
