SAGAING DIVISION – The spokesperson of the Myanmar Revolution Army (MRA) stated that the junta hidden sentry near Shwemudaw Pagoda at the entrance of Salingyi Town was attacked on Sunday (May 7) and two junta soldiers were killed.
At around 8:30 a.m., the resistance force members attacked the junta troops with snipers and 40mm mortar fire, stated the spokesperson of MRA.
“There were around thirty junta soldiers near Shwemudaw and the shootout lasted around twenty minutes. We did an ambush attack targeting them with snipers and shot a few rounds then fell back. These soldiers were the remaining junta columns (from the frontlines) and now they are guarding the security gates and sometimes checking civilians’ mobiles and IDs and extorting them,” continued the spokesperson.
The junta forces arbitrarily opened fire after being attacked but the alliance members reportedly withdrew safely.
Two junta soldiers were reportedly killed during the alliance mission of MRA and MRDA (Salingyi) forces, but the exact junta causalities could not be verified independently by the media.
