It was stated in the Kayin News, which included the KIC, that Kayin Border Guard Force Battalion Commander, Major Saw Lar Thit, passed away suddenly in the early morning of November 30th.
The news of the death of the 42-year old Major was confirmed by the Kayin News Agency KIC, by the General Secretary, Colonel Saw Chit Thu.
“I spoke with him last night. He returned home and slept on the tile floor with no clothes. His soldiers saw him sleeping in the early morning. At 9am, he had already died. He has no known medical illnesses. He would occasionally drink. We cannot say it was hypertension or stroke as the death was so sudden” said Colonel Saw Chit Thu to the KIC.
Major Saw Lar Thit and his group have been fighting as the leader of the BGF in the Kayin National Union (KNU) Brigade 1 Command.
The KNU announced on the 18th of November, that the BGF has been fighting the junta military, who have been committing numerous crimes in, Paan Township, Kayin Division.
