MYANMAR – The Ministry of Information of the terrorist junta council threatened that all departments and ministries of the junta council are working to blacklist and charge the owners of news media companies based outside the country.
The junta council withdrew the media licences of Mizzima, DVB, Khit Thit Media and Myanmar Now in March, 2021 for disrupting the security, rule of law and stability in the country and similarly withdrew the licence of Irrawaddy Media in October, 2022.
Although the junta council seized the licences of those media companies, they continue to publish news and were reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Transport and Communication in May, 2021, stated the junta regime.
Moreover, Mr. Hlaing Thit Zin Wai (aka) Thar Lon Zaung Htet, the owner of Khit Thit Media; Mr. Soe Myint, the owner of Mizzima; and Mr. Swe Win, the owner of Myanmar Now, were said to have been reported to the Ministry of Immigration and Human Resources to be blacklisted in April, 2021.
The terrorist junta council’s Ministry of Information published a threatening statement that its Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Transport and Communication and Ministry of Immigration and Human Resources are working together to take action on Mizzima, The Irrawaddy, Khit Thit and Myanmar Now based outside the country.
