TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Launglone People’s Administration Body (PAB) announced that they will be providing assistance to the government staff participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) as well as civilians who are facing difficulties due to the crimes of terror of the Junta forces.
They mentioned that they were coordinating with revolutionary organisations and grassroots administration teams in the region to provide food rations, temporary shelter, medicine, and emergency financial assistance to the people and CDM staff.
Around 1,500 people have been displaced in Launglone Township due to the Junta using a large number of troops to terrorise the region.
“The Junta is trying to suppress all revolutionary activities in Launglone. Their troops have been murdering the people, recklessly destroying and burning down houses, and robbing the people of their material possessions. The people, afraid of becoming victim to their atrocities, had to flee for safety,” said a representative of Launglone PAB.
“In order to provide for the people during these difficult times, the PAB has notified its members from health, education, humanitarian assistance, and grassroots administration sectors to treat this as an emergency and to assist the people,” continued the representative.
He added that the CDM staff and people who require assistance from the PAB can contact the relevant revolutionary groups.
“The PAB has prepared to provide rations, medicine, and financial assistance during this period and is now giving them out. We would like to notify the people of this,” said the representative.
The Junta has launched into Launglone using a large number of army, navy, and air forces since June 16, terrorising the civilians and searching for PDF members, according to locals.
