The detained NLD representative of Mawlamyaing City, Daw Nwe Nwe Aung’s request for medical insurance was rejected by the court.
She is suffering from heart disease and is detained in KyaikMaYaw Prison. Her legal team requested medical treatment outside of the prison (insurance for medical leave was submitted) to court on March 22nd.
But her request for medical insurance was rejected by the court during her trial on March 29th.
She was charged (by the Junta) with the Terrorist Law Clause 52 (A) for financially supporting and working with the anti-coup associations. She possibly would face a maximum of 7yr imprisonment and a fine under that charge.
