
NUG, MYANMAR – The National Unity Government (NUG) announced that 15 junta troops were killed due to clashes on June 23 alone.
The death toll could be higher on the ground, with 8 people injured in a single day as announced by NUG.
The Ministry of Defense, NUG has stated that the countrywide revolution is increasing in momentum and the death toll of the junta troops within a month ( from May 7 and June 6) is over 2,000.
The people are waging a civil war to defend their existence against the junta regime which is terrorizing and killing the citizens. The people of Myanmar are holding peaceful protests across the country to eradicate the military dictatorship on this land and to build a federal democracy.
It has been reported that on June 23 alone, there were protests in Kachin State, Yangon Division and Mandalay Division, (one protest each) and 10 protests (the most ) in Sagaing Division.
The NUG’s Ministry of Defense also stated that about 15,000 junta troops were killed and over 4,800 injured within one year of civilian defense.
These are the data collected from June 1, 2021, to May 17, 2022. The Junta does not release the death toll of its troops in the clashes happening in the country.
In addition, NUG stated at the news conference on June 21 that the PDFs have about 90 percent control of Upper Myanmar in Sagaing and Magwe Divisions which are the most terrorized regions by the junta regime. The villages which are presently being terrorized by the junta troops are still not controlled either by the PDFs or the junta regime.
