TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The junta’s council infantry battalion-285 has been firing with heavy artillery for two nights in a row since August 13 towards the villages in Pulaw Township, according to the residents.
A house from Kyaung Nate Village was destroyed as the junta’s soldiers shot with heavy artillery at around midnight on August 13.
There’s no casualties because almost all the villagers have fled.
The junta’s council 285th infantry battalion had been firing at Nantaung and Hmawmi Villages about 10 times at 9:20 p.m. on August 14.
“The refugees from those villages are coming back from the refugee place to the village. Now they are in a situation where they have to flee again,” said a villager.
The damage details of the August 14 shelling is not known yet.
The junta’s council forces are deliberately firing into villages without any battle or military tension.
