MYANMAR – All Burma Students Democratic Front (ABSDF) announced on December 23 that they have received a fund of 7 million Kyats from the anti-dictatorship film The Way via the National Unity Government (NUG).
It is said that the fund was transferred to them under the arrangement of the Union Prime Minister of the NUG on December 22.
“We remain allies with the NUG in both the military and political terms so we received both funding and weapon supplies,” said the information in charge Pyae Phyo Kyaw of the ABSDF.
ABSDF also conveyed its gratitude on behalf of its soldiers to the The Way team as well as NUG Prime Minister Mahn Win Khine Than.
ABSDF is currently working together with the revolutionary forces in Sagaing, Kachin, Karen, Tanintharyi and Shan regions.
The Way musical film, directed by singer Lin Lin, has received the best musical film award, best first time director award and best song award at the Festigious international film festival.
The film has been screening all over the world and the funds raised from the screening have been used in the revolution against the military dictator.
