SHAN STATE- It was reported today (January 12) that the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) released over 200 prisoners on the anniversary of Ta’ang National Revolutionary Day.
It was stated that they released 232 prisoners from different prisons and reduced the penalties for 60 prisoners on the 61st anniversary of Ta’ang National Revolutionary Day.
232 prisoners of 292 who were sentenced to one month to five years in prison were released, and 60 prisoners who were sentenced to 7 years to 20 years in prison reduced their penalties, as stated in the statement.
January 12, 2024, was 61 years of armed revolution for Ta’ang National Liberation, as stated in a statement.TNLA said that there weren’t any junta captives among those released prisoners this time, but there were in previous times.
