
SAGAING DIVISION – Two local people were reportedly killed and one was amputated in Kalama Latkauk Village on the bank of Ayeyarwaddy River in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Division as the junta’s soldiers opened fire.
Three Kalama Latkauk villagers on patrol were said to be hit with three 60 mm artillery shells at 9 a.m on Saturday(June 18).
“The junta’s soldiers opened fire using heavy artillery whenever they stormed the villages. The villagers didn’t have the chance to run away and were killed as three 60 mm shells were fired at once on that day(June 18),” said a comrade from People Defense Force.
The PDF comrade who collected the dead bodies of the villagers explained the situation of the injured villagers “One of them was not seriously injured and had an arm amputated. The other two died on the spot; one was hit in the head and one’s body exploded.”
He added that he didn’t want to tell the personal information of the injured and dead civilians for the villagers’ safety.
The junta’s force of 100 soldiers stormed Kalama Latkauk Village, opening fire, torched some huts from the village, and took 20 cows in a ship, according to a local.
“The junta’s soldiers storm the villages on the river bank whenever they need rations. They steal chicken and pigs, and everything they see. They come and do these very often,” said a local.
