KACHIN STATE – According to sources inside the army, Major Naing Naing Tun, the deputy battalion commander who sang the army propaganda song “We are soldiers”, is under arrest for refusing to fight.
The army propaganda song begins with the lyric “we are soldiers” and is about being loyal to the army and fighting with sacrificing life, but when he himself has to follow unfair marching orders from military leaders, he refuses to follow.
Major Naing Naing Tun is from Infantry Battalion (IB)-47 which is subordinate to the No. 21st Operation Command Headquarters (21st Infantry Division) based in Bhamo, Kachin stage.
He was arrested on August 20 at the camp near Manweingyi village, Mansi Township, Bhamo district, where he has taken his duties.
