MANDALAY DIVISION – There is fierce fighting near Tonekone Village in Madaya Township and the junta planes and helicopters are bombing the area, according to local residents.
There have been daily battles near the villages of Tonekone and Yamnkone in Madaya Township since early October and the junta council has also been constantly bombing with fighter jets and helicopters. It is said that there have been five airstrikes so far just on October 19 alone.
It is said that a military chopper carried out airstrikes around 12:15 p.m. and a fighter jet around 3 p.m. on October 19.
“A military chopper bombed three times around 12:15 this afternoon (October 19). There are battles near Tonekone and Yamnkone (Villages) every day. The junta dogs (junta forces) are suffering huge losses. The battle can be heard even now. The fighting is very intense. We can hear it from Madaya Town. Just at 3 p.m., they bombed twice with a jet fighter. The fighting is still ongoing,” said a resident of Madaya.
Battles have been breaking out daily due to the junta council launching offensives into the villages in Madaya Township and the civilians have been displaced.
