BAGO DIVISION – Five junta forces were killed and six weapons and ammunition were seized after KNLA and PDF joint forces captured a junta checkpoint in Waw Township, announced Waw Township People’s Defence Force (PDF).
On October 22 around 4:15 a.m., Waw PDF, led by KNLA, attacked the checkpoint guarded by junta and Pyu Saw Htee forces at Yaytagar Gate of Shankai Village in Waw Township. It is said that two junta soldiers and three Pyu Saw Htee militants were killed in the battle while two more Pyu Saw Htee militants were injured and the officer in charge of the gate reportedly got away.
In terms of weapons, one pistol, four G3 rifles, one Uzi rifle and several ammunition were confiscated during the battle. The attacked junta checkpoint is said to be collecting tolls from contraband trade and a nuisance to the people and was reportedly attacked because of complaints from the people.
