MYANMAR- The NUG Southern Military Regional, military sub-region (2)notified the public that fraudsters are distributing letters asking for payment under the name of PDF, as a political defamation.
“It was found that audio and video files were sent online to threaten the people and make them pay,” as mentioned in the statement.
Using the names and badges of the People’s Defense Army (PDF) battalions, columns, and photos of the PDF members under the military sub-region (2), some fraudsters are sending threats to businessmen and locals and demanding money to defame the people’s revolution.
“Such threats are not done by the battalions, columns, and People’s Defense Force members under the command of No. (2) military region but purposefully written and distributed by terrorist War Council to tarnish the honor of the People’s Revolution,” as reported in the statement.
“If the businessmen and locals receive such letters of threat, notify the southern military sub-region (2)’s official email [email protected] or Facebook page to verify whether it was sent by the PDF battalion under the command of No. (2) Military Subregion.
If it is found to be the activities of the PDF forces or any member under the No. (2) sub-military region, the assailants will be taken severe action under the PDF Military Discipline Law, the statement said.
