BAGO DIVISION – Aye Tun, a Hundred-household Chief involved with the junta council in the forced conscription of civilians in Thegon Township was killed in a targeted attack, reported an official from Thegon Township People’s Defence Organisation (PDO).
It is said that Thegon Township PDO and Paungde Township PDO collaborated and attacked the Hundred-household Chief around 1:40 a.m. on December 8 and he was killed on the spot.
Aye Tun has enthusiastically worked for the junta council and caused troubled for the people in various manners, including making false reports, oppressing and torturing the civilians, watching and abducting revolutionary forces, extorting civilians using the conscription law, and asking the junta council to conscript those with whom he has a poor relationship, which led to the revolutionary forces attacking him.
“Hundred-household Chief Aye Tun was an enthusiastic collaborator of junta dogs (junta forces) and abused and exploited the civilians for his benefits. We also received complaints from the people. We took time to observe and investigate him and found the accusations to be true so we asked him to cease his crimes immediately. But he ignored our warnings and continued with his crimes so we attacked him,” said the official from Thegon Township PDO.
The official continued that they are constantly watching the pillars of the terrorist junta council, including the Pyu Saw Htee militants and administration teams that are oppressing the people of Thegon Township to please the terrorist junta council by abducting and forcibly conscripting the residents as well as travellers, extorting and harming the activities of the revolutionary forces and warned them to absolutely not trouble the people by colluding with the junta council including forced conscription and extortion.
