CHIN STATE – Chin news sources said that fighting is intense in Thantlang on August 20 morning as Chinland Council coalition forces continue to continue to attack the remaining junta bases in Thantlang.
Chin coalition forces made up of Chin National Army (CNA) and Chinland Defence Force (CDF) launched an attack on Thantlang starting July 22, having captured at least eight junta council camps and are continuing attacks on the runaway junta forces in the town.
“Battles began again in Thantlang this morning. It started around 3:30 a.m. and the fighting was fierce. The junta council also bombed around three times by plane. The junta strategic base at hakha also fired around 10 rounds of 122mm heavy artillery. The battle is still ongoing,” said the Chinese news source.
He added that it is unclear if the junta base in Thantlang has already been captured.
The CNA spokesperson, Salai Htet Ni has been contacted to ask about the battle situation in Thantlang but has not replied yet.
As the Chinland Council coalition forces have captured the main junta bases located between Thantlang and Hakha, the junta council is unable to provide reinforcement by land and can only provide artillery fire from Hakha and attack using the Air Force.
